What’s more, the sun is expected to be 90% obscured from our region. During a solar eclipse, the apparent size of the Moon’s disk is slightly smaller than the apparent size of the Sun’s disk. Only the outer edge of the Sun remains visible and appears as a brilliant ring, often called a “ring of fire”.
Why not start your C&TS journey with incredible views as the eclipse is expected to reach maximum obscurity of the sun around 10:30 a.m., (just after our 10 am departure) and the eclipse will end shortly after noon.
